U-profile (trough) high-performance screw conveyors
Trough screw conveyors can be used for transporting various bulk materials. UAB “Liūdynė” offers a wide range of conveyor lines for bulk materials, designed for both standard and non-standard needs. The conveyors are designed with U-shaped troughs, which is the most common trough shape suitable for almost all applications.
These conveyors are particularly suitable for the food industry (e.g., peas, beans) as they cause less damage and breakage to the product during transport. A removable cover modification is available, allowing full access to screws and hangers, significantly easing the maintenance and servicing of screw conveyors.
Trough screw conveyors are designed for horizontal or inclined lifting and transportation of various products: salt, sugar, grains, poultry feed, animal and fish feed, corn, grasses, soybeans, sunflower seeds, various fertilizers, different sand fractions, chemicals, wood chips, wood shavings, pellets and chips, plastic granules, polymers, resins, minerals, as well as granulated and lump materials in the food industry.
Properly designed trough screw conveyors can be used not only for transporting bulk materials but also for dosing, moistening, mixing, or crushing them.
The design of the trough screw conveyor allows for efficient directing and containment of the transported material, ensures its smooth movement with spiral screw blades, and helps prevent blockages and leaks. Different types of troughs can be adapted to materials with various properties and fractions, ensuring a stable and efficient transport process.
Classification by screw conveyor materials
Carbon steel trough screw conveyor
Carbon steel is most commonly used in cement, coal, stone, and other industries where no special hygiene or resistance requirements are imposed.
Stainless steel trough screw conveyor
Stainless steel conveyors are most suitable for the chemical, food, and other industries where high hygiene requirements are imposed or where an aggressive environment prevails. They are highly durable, corrosion-resistant, and do not pollute the environment, but their cost is higher than carbon steel conveyors.
